Window cleaning for Livingston homes
Livingston is an old railroad town on the Yellowstone River, and many of its homes date back a century or more. The streets near downtown and the river have Victorian and early-1900s houses with original wood windows, bay windows and divided lites. Out of town, homes in Paradise Valley and along the river often have large windows aimed at the Absarokas and the Crazy Mountains. We clean windows by hand at both.
Older windows take extra care. We hand clean each small pane and wooden muntin with a squeegee and towel, and we wipe frames and sills without forcing old sashes. Larger view homes get the same attention, with our crews working from ladders to reach upper glass. We don't use water-fed poles.
Livingston is known for its wind. Strong gusts come down the valley much of the year and carry dust and grit onto screens and glass, especially on the west side of the house. Hand cleaning removes that film, and cleaning screens and tracks keeps the grit from blowing right back onto clean glass.
River-view homes also see water spots from rain and sprinklers, and winter leaves streaks below rooflines. A spring cleaning after the wind and snow, and a fall cleaning before winter, keep the view clear.
How we clean windows
Pane'N The Glass has cleaned windows by hand since 2005. Every window gets a scrub, a squeegee finish and a towel detail, and we wipe frames and sills as we go. Our crews work from ladders. We don't use water-fed poles, because we'd rather see the glass up close and get it right.
Inside and outside window cleaning
Screens, tracks, frames and sills
Skylights, glass doors and glass railings
Upper-story windows from ladders
Inside and out
Clean outside glass only goes so far if the inside is smudged. We clean interior windows too, along with glass doors, skylights we can safely reach, and window tracks where dust, dead bugs and grit collect. Screens get brushed and washed so they don't put dirt right back on the glass. For homes with a lot of glass, we can split the work into outside only, inside and out, or just the rooms you care about most. Tell us what matters to you and we'll put together an estimate that fits.
When to schedule
Montana's seasons are hard on glass. Spring brings mud and runoff splash, summer brings dust, pollen and sometimes wildfire smoke, fall brings leaves and the first storms, and winter brings snow, frost and water spots below the rooflines. Many homeowners book a cleaning in late spring, once the mud has dried, so the windows are clear for the long summer days. Others book in early fall to wash off the summer's dust and smoke before winter. If you're getting ready to sell, hosting family or just moved in, any time works. Tell us your timing and we'll find a date that fits.
